A mixtape is a compilation of music, typically from multiple artists, recorded onto a medium. With origins in the 1980s, the term normally describes a homemade compilation of music onto a cassette tape, CD, or digital playlist.
"MixTape" made the most sense as a moniker for this compilation of people that have decided to sing together. The group spans different generations, have eclectic tastes in music, and have different styles but all seem to work together as a single unit. Our repertoire will echo this as well.
MixTape Quartet, the 2023 JAD District Grand Champion, brings together generations and styles to create an electrifying musical experience. Formed in January 2023 and registered with the Barbershop Harmony Society, this Ohio-based group mixes barbershop, musical theatre, rock, country, and disco into a captivating repertoire. Get ready to be amazed by their dynamic and diverse performances!
MixTape Quartet has an eclectic taste and our repertoire is reflecting that. Traditional barbershop, musical theatre, rock, country, disco - you name it - we are interested in it!

She is the VP of Operations for DW Consulting Solutions, a LinkedIn coaching and training company and owns her own performance coaching business, HighNote Enterprises. She is a popular performance coach for ensembles across the US. Her spirited and positive approach uses inspiration, humor, and imagination helping her clients achieve excellence technically and artistically.
After graduating with a BFA in Acting from Wright State University, Dayve moved to sunny South Florida. Soon thereafter, she discovered the barbershop community and joined the Royal Palm Chorus and Sweet Adelines. A few short weeks later, she found herself Choreographer and Assistant Director of this award winning chapter. She is currently a proud member of both Spirit of the Gulf in Ft. Myers, FL and Scioto Valley Chorus in Dublin, OH.
Dayve has served in numerous leadership capacities at the chapter and regional levels including Associate Director for the 2005 Sweet Adelines International Harmony Classic Champions, Women of Note and as Regional Education Coordinator for Coastal Harmony Region 9 from 2008-2014. Jenni is originally from Durham, North Carolina and moved to Ohio in 2012. With the bulk of her performing background in musical theater, she has shifted her focus to barbershop singing. Her first quartet, Half and Half, was the first ever mixed quartet to reach the top 15 in Barbershop Harmony Society history. Jenni looks forward to working just as hard with MixTape to continue creating impactful barbershop music.
You may have also seen her graphic design work around the barbershop world. She is a freelance graphic designer and has worked on logos for Drew Wheaton Music, Lady A Cappella, Capital City Chorus, Circle City Sound, Melody Hine Arrangements and of course the design and branding for MixTape.
When not singing barbershop with her quartet friends, she spends her time watching horror movies with her amazing husband Tyler and cuddling their adorable mut, Doc.

Brian, chose Barbershop as his "hobby" of choice when he was in high school, back in 1983 and never looked back. He’s a quartet and chorus bass singer, winning international gold medals with Forefront quartet in 2016 and with The Vocal Majority chorus in 2018. In the “who knew” category, Forefront made a cameo appearance in 2022 with Music City Chorus and THEY WON! :-) Brian is no stranger to mixed ensemble singing. In 2002 his group M.O.D won the Mixed quartet prize at the Buckeye Invitational. He also sings in and is the Interim Director of The Alliance Chorus, now an all-voices chorus. A Certified BHS Performance Judge since 2016, his strongest attributes are in enhancing an ensemble's visual and vocal performance aspects. Brian coaches on a regular basis and has coached and taught at BHS Harmony University, several BHS Top Gun quartet sessions and countless district level Harmony College programs across the US. Elsewhere in the world he has worked with many talented groups from the UK to Germany’s BinG! Harmony College to Australia and New Zealand. He's even been on a coaching tour across Sweden, Denmark and Finland working with both men’s and women’s quartets and choruses. And lately he has been making efforts to share the gift of music and barbershop at a local youth correctional facility.
Brian has worked 20+ years as an Information Systems Analyst at an Ohio-based hospital corporation. Although he loves his work, it has mostly served as a way to support this “hobby” called barbershop. He and his girlfriend, Anna, reside in Worthington with their bunny, Chloe and their pup, Parker.
